Chief Palmer was appointed as Chief of the Coventry Police Department in November, 2006. Prior to that, Chief Palmer had been with the Norwalk Police Department for nearly 30 years. He had risen through the ranks there, most recently serving as the department's Deputy Chief since 1999.
Chief Palmer attended the Center for Public Safety at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, and graduated from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York with a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. He is a lead assessor with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies and is active on various boards and committees throughout the state.
Chief Palmer is honored to lead the men and women of the Coventry Police Department and is committed to working closely with the community in law enforcement and public safety issues.
