[ARCHIVED] WINTER STORM UPDATE: 3/8/18, 10:30 AM

Below please find a status update on how we are doing after the major storm. Watch for further updates.



  • 30% of homes without power. Report outages to Eversource at 800-286-2000 or www.eversource.com.
  • Report downed trees in roadway or power lines to Public Works at 860-742-6588 until 3 PM. After hours reports to Police 860-742-7331.
  • Town Hall is open normal hours until 6:30 PM. Charging station available in Conference Room B.
  • Library is open 10 AM – 8 PM with special events, Internet access and charging.
  • Most roads are open. See list below for known blockages. Do not attempt to cross down power lines and watch for low-hanging branches.
  • Transfer station open today from noon – 4 PM and normal hours on Saturday 9 AM – 3 PM.
  • Trash pick-up anticipated normal schedule.
  • Schools are closed. Status of Manager’s Budget Hearing scheduled for tonight at 7 PM is to be determined as power is currently out at high school. Status will be announced in a separate message.
  • Senior Center/Lodge opens at 10:30 AM as public warming shelter. No Internet or phones available. For transportation assistance call 860-742-5324.
