Dog License & Rabies Clinic
A rabies clinic is held every spring at Captain Nathan Hale Middle School. If your pet has been previously vaccinated, please bring written proof of their last rabies vaccine. Also remember to bring cash for the clinic costs with you, as well.
With over 100 animals expected at the clinic, for the safety of clinic workers, patrons and our wonderful pets, we ask that cats be brought in carriers and all dogs must be on a leash.
We are looking forward to seeing you and your pets. Please contact the Town Clerk’s Office at 860-742-7966 with any questions you may have. View flyer (PDF).
Per state statute, all dogs six months of age and older must be licensed annually. Dog licenses can be obtained at the Town Clerk’s Office. Payments can be in made by cash or check, payable to the Town of Coventry.
Dog licenses should be renewed in June. A $1 per month late fee will be added to the cost of the license for each month the license has not be renewed, after June 30.
|Month||Spayed / Neutered||Not Spayed / Neutered|
Please bring your dog’s current rabies vaccine information. Dogs with expired vaccinations cannot be issued a new license until proof of current vaccination is provided. If your dog has been spayed or neutered, please bring proof from your veterinarian. There is a substantial cost savings when licensing an neutered / spayed dog versus one that is not. If you adopt a dog over the age of six months and license within 30 days, no late penalties will be assessed.
