Local Tax Deferral Program

To qualify for the program, you must be part of the Elderly and Totally Disabled Tax Relief Program. Upon approval a lien shall be placed against the property. The amount of deferral will be the same amount which is received from the Elderly and Totally Disabled Tax Relief Program and is interest free. The program's filing period is from February 1 to May 15, biennially.

New Construction Prorates

New construction is prorated from the date of the Certificate of Use and Occupancy or the date of the Certificate of Completion and may result in an additional tax bill. Contact the assessor for further details by calling 742-4067.

Revaluation

A revaluation is required every five years. The Town of Coventry's last revaluation was for the October 1, 2019 Grand List. The next revaluation will be for the October 1, 2024 Grand List.

Income and Expense Reports

All forms will be mailed out by April 1, 2023. If you are in need of a new form, please click on the appropriate title. Please complete and return the Income and Expense form to the Assessor's Office on or before June 1, 2023.  

Change for the 2020 Grand List.

In accordance with Section 12-63c(d), of the Connecticut General Statutes, as amended, any owner of rental real property who fails to file this form or files an incomplete or false form with intent to defraud, will be subject to a penalty assessment equal to Ten Percent (10%) increase in the assessed value of such property.
